You will mostly spend time on the following:
- Creating and reviewing the architecture and infrastructure planning of current and future software systems. Creating and reviewing strategic technical roadmaps.
- Ensuring the availability of software systems and ensuring SLAs are met
- Ensuring that various attributes of software systems, such as quality, security, maintainability, usability, etc are incorporated into core development practices
- Working closely with Tech Leads on day to day activities, including writing, reviewing and troubleshooting code
- Liaising with product, business and leadership teams to provide recommendations and solutions. This will require you to be articulate and have good influencing skills
- Ensuring teams are operating optimally. This will require you to make hiring, team balancing recommendations
- Teaching and mentoring team members
- Analyzing the current software landscape and providing suggestions for future improvements
- Challenging current methods of working and fixing inefficiencies
We’re excited about you if you have:
- Experience building complex, high traffic, and consumer facing distributed platforms
- Proven knowledge and experience of highly scalable and highly available platforms and technologies
- Experience in establishing software development processes and practices
- At least 15 years of experience in software development, including experience building microservices and distributed systems
- Excellent programming skills in one or more languages: Java, Typescript, Javascript, C#, C++, Python or Ruby
- Experience working in Cloud environments: AWS or Azure or GCP
- Experience building secure, configurable, observable services
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work in an Agile environment
- The ability to mentor and teach junior and senior engineers
- The ability to collaborate effectively within and across engineering, product and business teams
